Some of the dressings at The Jazz Cooker might not have been homemade but the House dressing was. Equal parts creamy, sweet, and tangy, this dressing will liven up any salad. If you want it like the restaurant it was a salad of mixed romaine lettuce, shredded carrots, croutons ,tomatoes, cucumber, and cheese. This is also a fantastic base for a potato salad.
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 Tablespoon white vinegar
- ¼ cup yellow mustard
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Tablespoon minced fresh parsley
- 1 Tablespoon minced fresh basil
Put the mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, mustard, lemon juice and salt and pepper into a medium sized mixing bowl and mix well . Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
Stir the parsley and basil into the mayonnaise mixture and transfer to a plastic or glass container. Store in the fridge for up to a week or serve right away.
