2014-04-01

Allspice is the dried fruit of the Pimento plant. Used heavily in Caribbean cuisine and is named for its flavor of different spices. But when you don’t have any available you can get the same flavor by combining these ingredients. If your recipe asks for 1 tablespoon of allspice use one tablespoon of this spice mixture.

Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions

Step 1

Mix all ingredients in a bowl until well combined. Store in an air tight container in a cool, dry place away from heat and light. Like your fridge.
